Pools of light, an observation in 3(4) pictures.

Yesterdays morning dog walk was full of visual texture. The picture above is two photos superimposed as the early morning weather went from cold and bright to foreboding in the blink of an eye. If blinking an eye took five minutes.

Similarly this vertically cut tree stump bathes in the sunshine while showing off its toxic fungus growth.

Then one last pool of light, with a hidden menace.

All taken within about 15 minutes and  half a mile between them.

I was going to write a blog about the joy of morning pools of light in the late autumn sun, when I realised that each one hides a threat of sorts.

Thursday thinking.

Cover picture is all 3 pictures Superimposed. I love it. Yet it hides. Bad weather, poisonous fungi and a trained lethal killer. All in 15 minutes of a dog walk.

Not one ever to talk about Halloween, a ghastly reimagining of a perfectly good pagan event ruined by commercialisation and tacky plastic. But were I to buy into it then these mighty mushrooms, that we found this morning, seem pretty scary.

Autumn is such a gorgeous time of year if the weather is good. Last night we found some gorgeous greens on the beach and browns in some woodland.

Greens and browns and autumnal shades are the colours of a piece of costume jewellery that was gifted to me recently. A memento of a friend’s mum who died recently. It really is a most audacious piece of bling.

I am wearing it with pride. But for the end of this blog there is some more fungus.

Just a regular day with a walk in the village. For Wimbledon this flamboyant cyclist is just a regular cyclist. You can see his London adventures on his Instagram page.

Flamboyance can be the picture theme of the day, although the rest are totally natural. There is nothing like the pleasure of Charity Shop shopping in the more affluent areas of London. With three hours to spend out of the house we were very happy shoppers. A brand new cashmere scarf for £20 and the same price for a Cos dress we were very sartorially satisfied.

The vegetables also felt a little flamboyant.

Along with some very prickly chestnuts.

Breakfast of Champions or in truth the Cheese Straw that all others are judged against.

Even the fungus on the way home got the flamboyance memo.
