This water colour was painted by Queen Victoria whilst moored in Plymouth Sound on the Royal Yacht.

Drakes Island appears in lots of my blogs.

My guess is that she was anchored just to the left of the orange buoy that you can see in the distance of this photograph.

I wonder if she felt the urge to stop painting and slip into the silky waters of Tranquility Bay. She could have been a Bobber
