Brixton East is a fabulous multi-use creative space. Currently South London Women Artists are curating their latest exhibition there.
The Private View is tonight, 7th July between 6pm and 9pm. Rye Poets with Pia Goddard will be performing.
Creative Port- talking to Pia Goddard
South London Women Artists always put on thought provoking, stimulating shows. I’m sure My Place will be of their usual high standard . theoldmortuary delivered a piece to be exhibited yesterday and got glimpses of greatness through swathes of bubble wrap . An exhibition blog will be written after the big reveal.
So if great art and great poetry can’t persuade you to get along to Brixton East this evening, or during the next week. Maybe the promise of a great industrial architectural gem of a place might persuade you . My Place is THE exhibition to visit in Brixton right now.

Brixton East is a short walk , 5-10 mins from the centre of Brixton .

Spare a thought for the poor sailors out at sea on nights like this. It is a muscular reminder of the power of nature and beautiful in its own way but I know from bitter experience after about three nights without sleep the whole novelty and wonder thing tends to wear very thin. We have just enjoyed the longest day and summer beckons. Give me sunshine, coffee and a good book and I can endure just about any torment. The pursuit of happiness is much simpler than many realise. Mind you, I am still recovering from an acquired brain injury, so don’t listen to a word I say!

I’m on a day trip to London, without a book! We are off to Borough and Brixton without you. Coffee made at home, thank goodness there is no buffet car today. 6:00 train and we have ardent Argyle fans in our carriage .All is good and quiet but I had started my snacks before we had left the city limits.

I am insanely envious that London is but a train ride away, even without the essentials, I am certain it will prove to be a grand day out One should never reach for the snacks too early on a voyage of adventure and spontaneous delights. Say hi to Borough Market for me, I will always remember our evening out there. It was a special time, such events are so much more precious as you get older with the realisation that there are less tomorrow’s ahead than yesterdays behind.
